What is an IRA?
An Individual Retirement Account or IRA is a tax-deferred personal retirement account. Depending on your income, tax-filing status and coverage by an employer-sponsored retirement plan, your contributions may be tax-deductible.
What is a rollover IRA?
Individuals may transfer all or a portion of their retirement account from their previous employer into a self-directed rollover IRA.
Can I invest in an IRA?
If you or your spouse has earned income from wages or salary and you are under the age of 70 1/2, you may open and make investments in a traditional IRA account.
What types of assets may I have in an IRA?
An IRA is a retirement account that can be used to defer taxes on many different types of investments. Your choices may include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, non-traded Real Estate Investment Trusts, limited partnership interests, limited liability companies or promissory notes.
How can I use my current retirement account to invest in a non-traded REIT?
You may open a new IRA with a portion of your current IRA or qualified plan account funds. You may then purchase a non-traditional investment, such as a non-traded REIT, through your IRA held at a company that specializes in the custody and administration of these assets.
When will I pay taxes on IRA funds?
Individual Retirement Accounts may defer income taxes until the funds are withdrawn.

What is our relationship to the REIT sponsor?
Trust Company of America is separate and not affiliated with the REIT sponsor. Your REIT sponsor appreciates the experience and specialized skill Trust Company has to administer retirement accounts holding non-traditional investments, and has recommended us because of this.
