Stephen A. FinnStephen A. Finn
Chairman of the Board

Stephen Finn has made strategic and developmental contributions in both business and public arenas for the past two decades. As Chairman of the Board of Trust Company of America, Mr. Finn plays an active role in the company’s strategic direction and sales efforts.

In 1981, Mr. Finn founded LCS Investor Services, a data management service provider. In 1988, he purchased Gemisys Corporation, which provided back-office services to financial institutions. Mr. Finn acquired Trust Company of America in 1992.

In 1998, Mr. Finn was elected to serve a four-year term on the Los Altos Hills City Council and served as mayor of the city from 2000-2001. He is a member of the President’s Technology Committee, President of the Association of Colorado Trust Companies and a primary donor to the building fund for Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. He is also a key contributor to the Community School of Music and Art at Finn Center, located in Mountain View, California. The Finn Center was recently chosen as one of ten winners of the prestigious Business Week/Architectural Record Awards.

Mr. Finn earned a bachelor of science from San Jose State University in 1973 and a master’s in business administration from Santa Clara University in 1976.

David Barry David Barry

As Chief Executive Officer of Alpine Helicopters and Canadian Mountain Holidays, David Barry is responsible for the long term vision, strategy, management and operations of the largest helicopter skiing company in the world with 12 remote lodges in British Columbia and North America’s premier rotary wing aviation provider specializing in flight operations for helicopter skiing, firefighting, search and rescue and aviation utility. Today, the company operates in 2 countries, 17 locations and has 40 aircraft.

Canadian Mountain Holidays has been recognized by National Geographic as one of the Top Ten Travel Experiences in the world. Mr. Barry joined Intrawest in 1991 and has served in a variety of Senior Leadership positions throughout the enterprise at Mont Tremblant, Whistler Blackcomb and Colorado, serving through 2006 as Chief Operating Officer, Intrawest Mountain Resorts USA with total operating responsibility and oversight of 6 mountain resorts across the United States. Prior to joining Intrawest, Mr. Barry served in senior leadership positions within two eastern Canadian resorts and is a CSIA Level IV.

Mr. Barry is a member of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and is a past director of the National Ski Area’s Association and former Treasurer of Colorado Ski Country USA. Mr. Barry has been involved in many mountain resort community activities and has served on the board of the Summit Foundation and Colorado Special Olympics.

Mr. Barry has played a driving role in the integration of many Intrawest businesses and has a proven track record of strong leadership in successful turnaround situations, new acquisitions and the establishment of award winning guest and employee culture.

Kyle Lefkoff Kyle Lefkoff

A Founder and General Partner of Boulder Ventures, Mr. Lefkoff has 23 years of venture capital experience in Colorado, and has been the principal or lead investor in over 58 Colorado companies. Mr. Lefkoff’s venture capital investments include information technology, life sciences, and natural foods retailing.

Mr. Lefkoff is the Chairman of the Board of Array BioPharma. He is a Director of Centerstone Technologies, Metabolite Laboratories, Miragen Therapeutics, and Trust Company of America. He is the past Chairman of the Venture Capital Association of Colorado, and is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.

Mr. Lefkoff received his B.A. in Economics from Vassar College (summa cum laude) in 1981. In 1980, Mr. Lefkoff completed a Fellowship in Economic History at the London School of Economics. In 1985, he completed his MBA in Finance at the University of Chicago.

Peter Roshko Peter Roshko

Peter Roshko is a General Partner with Boulder Ventures and has over 25 years of venture capital experience. Mr. Roshko was a General Partner at Mohr, Davidow Ventures (MDV) in Menlo Park, California for nine years where he concentrated in software, medical devices and services. He was a Board member of Vantive Corporation for nine years from its founding through its IPO and subsequent sale to PeopleSoft.

Mr. Roshko is currently a Board member of Trust Company of America, Lijit Networks, Xifin Inc., Rally Software Development, DatAvail Corporation, ProStor Systems, and BroadHop Inc.

Prior to joining MDV, Mr. Roshko was a Senior Consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co. in San Francisco where he planned, designed and implemented management information systems for a variety of client engagements.

Mr. Roshko holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree (cum laude) in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Doug Thaxton Doug Thaxton

Doug Thaxton joined Trust Company of America in May 1990 and currently serves on the board of directors. Before focusing on the role of director, he served as chief financial officer from 1994 through 2005.

During his 16 year tenure with the company, Mr. Thaxton led the business through numerous new business ventures including the development and execution of a business model to service privately held Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) organizations. He also serves as president of Trust Company of America’s affiliate GEMISYS Financial Services. GEMISYS provides various financial services to the direct participation programs market.

Prior to joining Trust Company of America in May of 1990, Mr. Thaxton held a series of positions as controller and chief financial officer in various engineering and manufacturing firms. He was a manager in the audit department of the international accounting firm Touch Ross (Now Deloitte Touch Tohmatsu).

Mr. Thaxton served for five years in the U.S. Navy as a flight officer. He is a CPA and earned his bachelors of science in accounting from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado.

Frank Maiorano
President and Chief Executive Officer

Frank Maiorano was named president and chief executive officer of Trust Company of America in January 2010. As one of the pioneers of the Registered Investment Advisor services industry, Mr. Maiorano has more than 20 years of leadership experience in advancing services for RIAs.

Previously, Mr. Maiorano founded and built the RIA and Institutional Consulting Services Group at Nuveen Investments, serving as the group’s managing director. Prior to Nuveen, Mr. Maiorano spent 12 years with Charles Schwab, where he held a variety of positions including divisional vice president at Schwab Institutional. At Schwab, he was one of the early entrepreneurial employees in the RIA support services, custody, and technology division. Mr. Maiorano began his career in financial services as an investment advisor for Legg Mason.

Mr. Maiorano received a bachelor’s degree in business from East Carolina University. He is the founder of Habitat for Humanity’s “Financial Matters” Annual Build, which brings the financial services industry together to build one house each year for a qualified but less fortunate family.

Mark Massa

Mark Massa
Management Member

Mark Massa joined Trust Company of America in 2006 and currently serves as the company’s vice president of client services and operations.

An executive with extensive general management, customer service, and outsourcing solution experience, Mr. Massa is a proven strategic leader who employs disciplined methods to consistently exceed customer expectations.

Over the previous 21 years, Mr. Massa has held a variety of senior leadership positions within the Fiserv Trust Group. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of product operations where he led the combined operations of Fiserv ISS (f.k.a. First Trust, Resources Trust, Lincoln Trust, The Affinity Group, Retirement Accounts, Inc., and Aspen Investment Alliance). Prior to this, he served as president of The Affinity Group, Inc. for 13 years and reported directly to the president of Fiserv Trust Group. While holding this position, he was responsible for P&L and the overall performance of the retirement plan services and outsourcing unit that served over 200,000 customer relationships.

Mr. Massa holds a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Vermont. He also participated in Fiserv’s Business Unit General Management Business School and has been a member of the American Society for Quality for over fifteen years.

David RunbergDavid Runberg
Management Member

David Runberg joined Trust Company of America in 2007 and currently serves as the firm’s chief financial officer.

With over 28 years of progressive experience as a financial executive, Mr. Runberg brings solid leadership in finance and accounting operations to Trust Company of America. His skill set encompasses 10 years of “Big 4″ public accounting practice and 18 years of diverse financial and operational experience with both public and private companies. His areas of expertise also include mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and corporate finance.

Prior to joining Trust Company of America, Mr. Runberg served as vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Big O Tires, Inc. where he led the finance, credit, and information technology teams. In this role, Mr. Runberg managed a staff of 40 employees who served Big O Tires and its affiliates, as well as 550 franchised retail tire and automotive service centers located throughout the United States. Additionally, he directed numerous business valuation and franchisee financing projects.

Prior to joining Big O Tires, Mr. Runberg held senior level finance officer positions at INVESCO Private Capital and Gillett Holdings.

Mr. Runberg holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado, is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and holds the FINRA Series 27 license.
